At the preview evening (Friday, 30th March) for NAFAS Surrey Area Show 'BOXCLEVER' the results for prizes and awards were announced and presented to competitors.

Despite the planning and hard work that was put in to making and staging our exhibit, Sue Tausig and myself did not get any prizes or awards for our entry, however, the judges did give constructive feedback about our design and its construction; there were also positive comments about how our design would make people smile whilst they viewed it.

It has been a wonderful experience and opportunity to enter the world of competing and NAFAS competitions. In the last twenty four hours I have learnt lots, met many like- minded flower arrangers and floral designers, and gained inspiration that will help me to progress by developing my skills and knowledge.

I have been given plenty of invaluable advice on topics such as interpreting titles, producing sound basic floral designs, techniques, floral demonstrations, flower clubs and flower competitions. I hope that my continued participation with NAFAS will show my ability to listen to and use the advice that has been given to me and shared with me. I feel privileged to have competed in this show and honoured to have met new friends and colleagues from the many NAFAS areas and clubs who also attended and participated.
