British Master Florist Neil Bain MDPF recently created this sympathy design for a client, the brief was to design and make an unique tribute that was suitable for a man; strong and bold using natural readily available materials. The heart-shaped design was constructed with mixed foliages Laurus nobilis, Hedera helix sp., Euonymous fortunei sp., Salvia officinalis sp. and Camellia japonica 'Rendezvous' along with Alchemilla Mollis, Chrysanthemum Anastasia 'Dark Green' and Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. To add a designer touch sisal was baled with bullion wire and attached along one side of the tribute to give it an asymmetrical outline.

The contrasts of texture, shape and form within the materials used to create this tribute worked well against the grain of the wood and the shiny brass- coloured fittings of the coffin.

Neil commented on how pleasing it is to get positive feedback and praise from clients following designing and creating bespoke designs for such sensitive and emotional occasions.
